During their time with the Scout Movement Beavers, Cubs and Scouts earn badges through their experiences with their section, their group or their district; they may also work in their own time for particular badges.

In addition to the badges they are given on joining the Scout Movement they will earn 'Challenge Badges' on a cumulative basis from their activities at the Scout Hall.

They will also earn 'Activity Badges' and 'Staged Activity Badges' for particular evenings with their section, but more commonly will work to gain these badges independently.
